I'm glad, so far, that Obama won. | | The man scared me with his "spread the wealth" comment and I thought for sure we would have a socialist or communist government. But this guy has a lot on the ball--instead of reveling in his victory, he's getting to work on the problems the country faces and has chosen, so far, a VERY good cabinet! True, they are leftovers from Clinton and Reagan, but they are the best of the best as far as I can see.Best of all, the old men are (for the most part) GONE!!! Well, I thik it is so true.I am the mother of 2 biracial children(black and white). It seems like everyother day when I am out I will get people sayingthings that they are assuming about me and my kids because they are mixed.[em]confused[/em]Take today for example. While waiting for the bus at the downtown terminal a girl asked if my kids were mixed.I answered though it was none of her busineess. Once i did she began to ask me what projects we lived in, what gang their daddy was affiliated with, why did he leaveme,and an assortment of questions such as those.Now,I am not better than anyone by no means.But He was not,never has been in a gang. I do not associate with gang members.I dont live in the projects,and hius daddy didnt leave me.[em]shocked[/em]I think it is so rude for people do this.I never ask a question based on race, religion,etc.and it really does make you look like an azz..Your thoughts? | |

| | What do you think about Michael Jackson's children??? | | I guess it doesn't matter much, because Michael has raised these children. I can not stop thinking whether or not he is the real biological father.
Even though he has had his skin bleached white, his biological genes are the same, which is black, and his children are totally white. They do not look bi racial at all. The media has picked up on this too, questioning whether he actually fathered these children.
Michael, rest in peace, everything about you is surfacing now.

| | Concentration - Eating!!! | | Do you concentrate on your food while your eating? I myself don't concentrate while having my food, i'll watch tv shows when im at home and when im in college i'll study and have my food or chit chat with friends and have my food.But, i read in an article that one should concentrate themselves on the food what they eat, how much quantity they eat etc.. So that this may prevent us likely to stop over eating because we will be aware of the food which gets into our stomach and we will feel full when its filled but when we are distracted by someother activities they over eat which is paves way to many disorders like obesity etc ..

Kids today are giving new meaning to the idea of TV dinners: Many are watching television while chowing down their evening meal, a new study reveals. And overweight kids are more likely than normal-weight kids to eat in front of the television.

What do you think. | | I know at lease my children who are spanish and black they have their fathers coloring and hair his is straight theirs is curly but not nappy. | | Black doll or White doll? | | I have heard that they did a study on black children to see what doll they would perfer, black or white. Most or all the children perfered a white doll! In my opinion that's all the children see on TV, they see the beautiful thin, long blonde, blue eyes white person and hardly any black women on TV so they can look up to. I've noticed a lot of people discussing white/black or racism but it doesn't really matter what color you are, we are all the same! | | Racial Issues: A very sad study with heartbreaking results | | I've gone to school for education and changed my major to behavioral sciences. I've recently heard, in the news, of a study that was recreated by a young student. It was sad, to see in this day and age, what the results were.
The study, I'm not 100% sure of everything, but was definitely about race. Children, Black and White were given 2 dolls. One black, one white. They were asked which was the pretty doll, which was the ugly, which was smart, which was bad, etc. And, most of the negative answers always pointed to the Black doll.
I find this very heart-breaking and apalling.
In the area where I live, there are mostly Whites. We have some Blacks, Asains, and Indians, but it's predominantly White. So, I have dolls for my children that are Black, dark-skinned, Asian, etc. My son doesn't really play with dolls, but my daughter plays with them all pretty equally. I want my children to KNOW that not everyone looks as they do. But, that it is fine that people are different. At our church, and some in the schools, there are some different ethnicities. But, I can't make the exposure happen out in public; I try to create it in the homes.
