They are signed Gibson and I wanted to know if they have anything to do with the Gibson Ladies. I have a few Franklin Mint Gibson Dolls and the pictures I have look a lot like them. | | Science Fiction - Fantasy artists | | Does any of you fantasy (elves, dragons and such) have a favorite artist? We all know about Boris Vallejo, but what others do you know?
I have a couple of prints from Robin Wood. She did the original jacket art for Ann McCaffrey's "Dragon Riders of Pern". What I have the most work of (prints, not originals) is from Ruth Thompson. She does beautiful dragons, but that isn't all she has done. Her rendition of the Archangel Michael has been done into a statue by the Franklin Mint.
I have other artists that I favor, but by far Ruth Thompson is my favorite. I'd post a picture of one of her works, but I don't have the right to do so. | |

| Have you ever ordered something on ebay and not told your hubby? | | My hubby who loves to gamble does not like me buying porcelain dolls. I have collected about 10 Franklin Mint and Rusti dolls over the years and I am disabled and they give me joy to look at. My husband got really mad when I ordered one about 6 months ago and we had a disagreement over this. I feel he tosses money away while I at least have something to show for it and that I enjoy. Needless to say I bought another one and it will be arriving today, so wish me good luck! | |
