| | Are your pets fussy? | | Our dog eats almost anything. He likes his own food, the cat's food, dinner scraps etc. Our cat is completely different. We have bought different kinds of food for her, but she only likes a few different things, and if she doesn't get the food that she wants, she doesn't eat anything at all. | Naming our Pets | | I've seen that there are a lot of people that come up with some very creative names for their pets and there are others that use names that are a little bit more sterotypical. What I'd like to know is what you named your pet and how you came up with the name that you've given them.Us, right now we have three pets. Our oldest dog is named Michela Mae because I found her out in the country almost eleven years ago and I wanted to give her a name that is somewhat old fashioned to represent the area where I found her. Then our other dog is named Jasmine Lady Ariel. She came with the name of Jasmine and my daughter decided to keep up with the Disney theme and added the other two names to it. Finally we have our cat, Cornbread. We named him this because of his coloring.Oh, and we are considering getting another cat and we've decided that we are either going to name it Beans or Buttercup to keep up with the food theme and the classic country meal of soup beans and cornbread. | |

| Dog and cats as pets | | Dog and cats are intelligent animals. I say this because I have a pet dog who can do a lot of tricks. I know it is not uncommon as dogs can be trained, taught some tricks and are loyal pets, thus they are "man's best friend". But what concerns me is my cat. With the love and care I showered on her, feeding her to her heart's content, she gave back my kindness by keeping the house rodent free, doesn't steal food from the table or anywhere but just wait until food is given her. She always goes to the same spot I assign for her to pee. One time when she was pregnant and about to delivery her kittens, she gave a weird cry as if telling me to open the door to my bedroom which I did and there she gave birth to 2 lovely kittens. And there had been so many instances that she could almost always understand what I want her to do or to go as if we speak the same language. Is you cat like this? | |
| | Do you Rent and have pets? | | I am writing this discussion to see if people are finding it harder to find a "rental accommodation" if they have pets like a cat or dog. My friend has 2 cats and is looking for a rental and almost all the places for rent say NO PETS ALLOWED.
I rent but don't have large pets, only a bird so I don't have any problem myself. However I would love to have a dog but won't get one because its a big responsibilty and if I couldn't find a place to move to with the animal I would be so sad if I had to give them away.
